Yoshiko Wada is the amazing, whirlwind force of nature who revives and sustains the art of resist dyeing worldwide on the institutional level as well as one person at a time. I was grateful for her gifts when the technique of shibori and my own hat design ideas spontaneously intersected while still on the plane back from Japan.
